I recently wrote an article that outlined 5 free tech tools for hoteliers.  I was surprised by the reaction from folks in my position at other management companies who had never heard of these tools.

Google Alerts: Get notice of news and events that can help your sales team identify opportunities.

Boomerang: Schedule your emails to go out on specific times, have email reappear at specific times (like bills, travel itineraries, etc) to automatically resend if there is no response.

Yesware: Find out who reads your email even if they don’t respond.  This is stealthy but it helps your sales team craft better subjects and know if someone is looking at your email.  We use it when our email is marked read again after several days and then call on our potential client.  This also automatically updates your sales CRM with activity.

Smartrecruiters: Organize and multiply your recruiting efforts with this powerful free tool.  The amount of functionality this includes can’t be summarized adequately.

If This Than That (IFTTT.com): Put the internet to work for you by automatically creating content, sending reminders, or really anything else.  All based on triggers from some of the largest sites in the world (Facebook, Instagram, Craigslist, WordPress, Calendar and so much more).
